Siberian Husky
An Arctic coat in Indian weather is hard mode, and honesty helps more than products here. The double coat insulates against heat as well as cold, which leads to the one rule that overrides everything: do not shave a Husky. It removes the insulation, exposes the skin to sun, and the coat grows back wrong.
- Undercoat rake 3 times a week, daily during the blow, which is biblical. Outdoors. Make peace.
- Bath every 6 to 10 weeks. Huskies are startlingly self-cleaning; over-bathing this coat is the main mistake.
- Heat management is coat care: walks at dawn and after dark, shade and water always, cool floors to lie on, and honest air conditioning in peak summer. A Husky panting hard at rest is an emergency, not a quirk.
