Pug
A short coat that sheds like a long one, attached to a face that needs its own maintenance schedule. Pug care is two small routines: coat, and folds.
- Coat: rubber mitt 2 to 3 times a week. Pugs shed generously year-round; the mitt is the difference between a dusting and a carpet.
- Folds: wipe the nose wrinkle dry 2 to 3 times a week with a soft dry or barely damp cloth, then dry it properly. Damp folds grow things nobody wants. Redness or smell in a fold is a vet visit.
- Bath every 3 to 6 weeks, folds dried carefully after.
- Heat sense: flat faces overheat fast. Early walks, shade, water, and no heroics in summer.
Coat care: Pug
Short coat, big shed, famous folds.
Weekly: rubber mitt x 2 to 3 days. Wipe and dry the nose fold x 2 to 3 days.
Bath: every 3 to 6 weeks. Dry the folds after, properly.
Summer: early walks, shade, water. Flat faces overheat fast.
Never: leave folds damp.
