The wire guide's star pupil, with the most famous beard in dogdom. The coat decision is strip or clip, made once and on purpose. The beard decision is made daily, whether you like it or not.
- Furnishings (beard, eyebrows, legs, skirt): slicker plus comb 3 times a week.
- Beard, daily: comb it, and rinse after wet meals, then dry. This single habit is most of Schnauzer ownership.
- Strip or clip every 6 to 8 weeks with your groomer. Stripping keeps the wire texture; clipping softens it over time. Choose deliberately.
- Bath every 3 to 6 weeks; the beard may need spot washes between.
